Tirana remains in the hands of Refik Halili, the Court suspends the auction

The Tirana Football Club will continue to be owned by Refik Halil at least for a period of time.

This is after the Court of Tirana has decided today to suspend the auction called by the private executor until the case is examined on its merits.

A few days ago, the Executor opened an auction to sell 66% of the shares of Tirana for 1.5 million euros due to an obligation that the company "Halili" has to Darlin Preza, heir to a legal will.

This obligation has been confirmed by two court decisions of the first and second instance in 2015 and 2017.

"The obligation of the defendant to the company "Halili" to pay in favor of the plaintiff Abedin Treza (Preza) the amount of 1,541,835 euros, as well as the obligation of the defendant to pay legal interest on this amount from the date of filing the lawsuit and continuing until the date of execution of the decision.

The auction decision states that each bidder must deposit a guarantee of 10% of the initial price, while the auction was opened on April 18 and will remain open until today.

In addition to 66% of the shares that are owned by businessman Refik Halili, the rest of 34% is owned by the Municipality of Tirana.

Although the auction was open until April 22, there was no one interested in depositing the 10% amount and further proceeding with the process of purchasing the shares.
