Borussia Dortmund star hands in his resignation letter to the club

Borussia Dortmund will lose one of their young stars this summer. German media have revealed that 20-year-old Jamie Gittens, who is being closely watched by Europe's biggest clubs, has handed in his request to leave the club this summer.
The footballer has played 42 games for Borussia Dortmund this season and was thought to be the new star of the team, following in the footsteps of other Britons who have been part of this team in the past such as Sancho or Bellingham. But the youngster, who was approached from the Manchester City academy in 2020, lost his place in the lineup with the appointment of Niko Kovac to the bench, as the latter does not play with typical wingers in the 3-5-2 scheme.
Thus, Gitens has requested a summer exit and the club will most likely allow him, although he has a contract with them until 2028. Halfway through the season, Borussia were asking for 100 million euros for him, but his valuation has now dropped to around 60 million euros, with many English clubs willing to pay this figure for the British boy.
