Official/ Bayern Munich extends goalkeeper Manuel Neuer's contract

Manuel Neuer has extended his contract with Bayern Munich, which was due to expire at the end of this season, for a further year, until June 30, 2026. This will be the goalkeeper's 15th season with the club.

Max Eberl, board member for sports, stated:

"Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper of his generation and a Bayern icon. When it comes to goalkeepers in our time, it's Manuel Neuer - and that's all over the world. He is an extraordinary role model, both on and off the pitch. We are delighted that this extraordinary and successful relationship will continue."

Christoph Freund, sports director:

"Manuel Neuer has set the standard for goalkeepers for more than a decade. He is our captain, a big figure at Bayern, and the team knows that they can always rely on him. We are happy that we can pursue our goals with him next season as well."

The German 'guardian' himself said:

"I really enjoy playing football and I want to remain a Bayern player. I am still hungry for success and I can't wait for another year at this special club. We have always had good conversations. This is a good feeling. This feels good and we still have many goals to achieve together."

Neuer joined Bayern from Schalke in the summer of 2011 and has been captain since 2017. He has twice won the 'treble' (Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League) in 2013 and 2020, also lifting the FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in both years.

The 38-year-old has won the Bundesliga 11 times, six DFB Cups and seven Super Cups. He has made 547 competitive appearances for Bayern, as well as playing 124 times for Germany, with whom he won the World Cup in 2014.

Neuer has been named the IFFHS World's Best Goalkeeper five times, the World's Best Goalkeeper of the Decade (2011-2020), the FIFA World Goalkeeper of the Year and has been the German Footballer of the Year twice.
