Samsung's newest smartphone could be unveiled at the end of 2025

Samsung is considering introducing a tri-folding smartphone in the United States.
The company is still evaluating markets to launch the device, which will be released later this year, but sources tell CNN that the US is part of the plan.
This is important because Samsung releases new products in markets like South Korea and China. Huawei has also released a tri-fold phone, but its products are not sold in the US.
In the summer, Samsung introduced the seventh generation of foldable phones and is preparing a new version of the Galaxy S Edge for next year.
The tri-fold phone, which folds in two to create a larger screen, will be the most radical change to Samsung's lineup since the release of the foldable model in 2019.
The company has not provided any details other than the plan to launch it at the end of the year.
Samsung has shared concepts of a tri-fold device. One of them, the Flex G, opens like a leaflet, while the Flex S prototype folds both outwards and inwards, creating an "S" shape and bringing three screens into one device.
Next year, Samsung will release a new Galaxy S25 Edge model that is a direct rival to the iPhone Air.
The company's philosophy of making devices thinner will also be applied to new products, including the Galaxy S series.
However, it remains to be seen whether this will affect sales growth as The Elec reported in June that Galaxy S25 Edge sales were not meeting expectations.
