Google Maps and Earth come with new updates
The American company Google is working on new updates for Google Maps and Google Earth in an effort to improve the user experience and help them understand the ever-changing world.
The new updates include expanding Street View, clearer satellite imagery with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) for Google Maps, and historical imagery functionality for Google Earth on the web, Android Central reported.
Google's changes in an update to Street View on Google Maps include "new imagery," which is expected to be available in nearly 80 countries.
In addition, the company stated that it has made it easy to create better Street View images in more places, as it will continue to update Maps Street View for better virtual detail in many places.
It's also important to note that the Street View expansion launched on September 25th, which means users should keep an eye out for this update.
In parallel, Google also introduced updates to Google Earth. Users will soon find it easier to turn back the clock on a part of the planet as a new "historical imagery" feature will soon become accessible on the web version of Google Earth, according to a company statement.
This update will allow users to find nearly 80 years of preserved "satellite and aerial imagery" of the planet's geography to understand the changes it has experienced.
The company says some places will take you back to the 30s – like London, Berlin or Paris.
In addition to the previously mentioned updates, images in Google Maps and Earth will also benefit from sharper quality with the help of AI.
