Mark Zuckerberg: We are at the end of the era of phones

Mark Zuckerberg has said that we are towards the end of the smartphone era.

According to him, these devices will become unnecessary and will be replaced by a simpler, more discreet and closer to the body object, smart glasses.

The head of the Meta company believes that this change will happen naturally, as glasses are a common accessory for people.

He emphasizes that they will not be limited to just displaying notifications, but will offer a whole new way to experience technology.

The first benefit will be physical, he says, we will no longer have to keep our hands busy and our heads down on the screen.

Meta has already introduced the Ray-Ban Stories and Ray-Ban Meta models, which record video, listen, translate in real time, and display information with augmented reality.

This will make travel and communication easier, but at the same time it makes it difficult to distinguish between reality and the virtual world.

Zuckerberg's strategy is tied to the market: phone sales have fallen, production is slowing, and new models bring only minimal changes.

What is required now is stability, not frequent change.

He predicts that within a decade we will no longer need to take our phone out of our pocket, as everything - messages, calls, photos, navigation - will be done through our glasses.

However, the main obstacle remains the price.

For this reason, Meta is investing billions in the Orion AR project, aiming to lead the new computing era and not depend on Apple or Google.

The company hopes to reduce costs and spread mass use within 3 to 5 years, while by 2030 it predicts that up to 25% of users will switch to smart glasses.
