Accidents in 2025/ January leads with 125 accidents, in February the number

According to the report published by INSTAT, the number of accidents decreased in February, compared to January 2025. 

In January, 125 accidents were recorded, while in February, 88 accidents.

The main cause in over 80% of cases remains the behavior of the driver.

Compared to a year ago, the number decreased in January by 22.8%, and in February by 21.1%.

In January 2025, there were 125 road accidents, of which 174 people died.


During the period January 2025, the number of road accidents decreased by 22.8%, compared to the same period a year earlier.

Road accidents, in 89.6% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver's behavior. The highest number of accidents, in this period, was committed by the age groups 0-24 and 25-34 years old, each accounting for 21.6% of the total number of accidents.

In January 2025, the highest number of road accidents occurred on Thursday with 23.2%, while the lowest number of accidents occurred on Saturday, with 10.4%.

In February 2025, there were 88 road accidents, of which 122 people were injured.
During the period January-February 2025, the number of road accidents decreased by 21.1%, compared to the same period a year earlier.

Road accidents, in 81.8% of cases, occurred as a result of the driver's behavior. The highest number of accidents, in this period, was committed by the age groups 25-34 years and 45-59 years, each accounting for 23.9% of the total number of accidents.

In February 2025, the highest number of road accidents occurred on Thursday with 20.5%, while the lowest number of accidents occurred on Sunday, with 9.1%.
