From June to July 2025, Albanian citizens consumed salmon contaminated with the dangerous bacterium "Listeria monocytogenes".

This is the product photo.

ALARM/ Infected salmon from Serbia in Albanian supermarkets. AKU is silent,

This bacterium causes a serious infection, the symptoms of which are:

- High temperature;

- while in pregnant women it can cause premature birth or severe infection in the baby.

Sources for Ora News indicate that the quantity of smoked salmon imported into our country is 1040 pieces and is sold mainly in supermarkets.

This product is imported from Serbia and is marketed in packages of 50 grams, 100 grams, 200 grams and 300 grams.

Following the announcement of the presence of the bacterium "Listeria monocytogenes" in salmon, the product was withdrawn from the market, although the largest quantity of salmon, which had an expiration date of 6.7.2025-3.8.2025, was consumed by Albanian citizens.

While supermarkets notify citizens to return the product if they have not yet consumed it, the AKU remains silent.

Even though it is legally obliged to publish this information for consumers, the NFA has not made any announcement.

Apparently consuming products with a tax coupon is just as dangerous as consuming those without a tax coupon.
