Crime in Albania seems to be breaking all barriers, as murders are being ordered even inside prisons. In the testimony that Indrit Shaqja gave about the murder of Arben Lleshi, he showed that they offered him 200,000 euros for the "head" of Lleshi. He said that they asked him to poison him but he refused because he was a friend.
But during his testimony, he says that an anonymous person had sent a letter to Arben Lleshi, informing him that 200,000 euros had been offered to release him and another prisoner. It is about Xhelad Kruja.
"An anonymous person has sent a letter to Arben Lleshi in the chamber warning him that they are paying 200,000 euros for your head and 200,000 euros for Xheladin Kruja," testifies Indrit Shaqja, according to the Elbasan prosecution file.
Even the murder of Arben Lleshi on December 15, 2023 is suspected to have been paid.
But who is Xheladin Kruja?
He was sentenced to 16 years and 8 months in prison in a high security prison after being found guilty of murdering two brothers Eliton and Enton Grezda, 20 and 18 years old in the "Naim Gjylbegu" neighborhood in Shkodër. The crime happened on May 3, 2001. The murder happened after a fight between young people when Kruja was also 22 years old at the time. After the fight, he went home, took the machine gun and fired a volley at the two brothers. He was arrested two days later.
While serving his sentence in the prison of Saint Kolli, on June 3, 2021, he tried to kill the former head of the Rrethina municipality, Kleves Muja.
From the footage recorded by the security cameras of the prison, it appeared that Xheladin Kruja had hit the citizen Kleves Muja in the neck with a pipe modified as a knife. The attack happened just as Muja was returning to his cell after meeting with his family members.
