Elbasan, fire in Krastë is under control

The Ministry of Defense announces that the fire on Krasta Mountain in Elbasan has been brought under control.

In a media release, the Ministry of Defense writes that 12 Armed Forces personnel and a fire engine from the Mengël Regional Defense Detachment, Elbasan, were involved in this action.

"After continuous work by the forces, the fire on Krasta Mountain in Elbasan has been brought under control.

Currently, firefighting forces and structures involved in the operation continue intensive work to fully isolate and finally extinguish the remaining fires.

"Also, monitoring of the terrain continues to prevent any possible reactivation due to the wind," the defense ministry's announcement reads.

"This action involved 12 members of the Armed Forces and a fire engine from the Mengël Regional Protection Detachment, Elbasan," the announcement states.

"Civil protection structures, in cooperation with local authorities and in full coordination with the National Civil Protection Agency, are on standby at any time to protect the community and natural resources," concludes the announcement of the Ministry of Defense, which also shares photos from the work of the fire service.
