NAME/ 1,000 euro bribe for dismissing a criminal case, the police officer is arrested

An officer of the Judicial Police, near the Prosecution of Elbasan, was arrested by order of SPAK, on ​​the charge of committing the criminal offense "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of the justice bodies".

In the official announcement of SPAK, it is stated that from the acts administered for the interests of this criminal proceeding, it was found that, on 10.09.2024, in an investigative show, the footage on the corrupt case of the Judicial Police Officer AD, was broadcast in the Prosecutor's Office near The Court of First Instance of Elbasan General Jurisdiction, which asks and receives from the citizen H. Ll., the sum of 1,000 Euros, as a reward for dismissing the criminal case in charge of her son, for the criminal offense "Construction of illegal", provided by article 199/ai of the Criminal Code.

" From the performance of the first investigative actions, it resulted that there is a reasonable suspicion based on evidence that the citizen AD, with the duty of Judicial Police Officer in the Prosecutor's Office at the Elbasan Court of First Instance, has consumed the elements of the criminal offense "Passive corruption of judges, prosecutors and other officials of justice bodies", provided by article 319/ç of the Criminal Code.

For the interests of this criminal proceeding, the Special Prosecutor's Office has requested the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, the determination of the measure of personal insurance, and the Court with its decision No. 117 Act, dated 16.09.2024, decided to accept the request, assigning the coercive measure of personal security "house arrest " provided by article 237 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. This security measure was executed by the judicial police at the Tirana Local Police Directorate on 16.09.2024.
