NAME/ Injured during robbery by villa owner, Italian police arrest victim's accomplice Rivaldo Rusi. Third Albanian still on the run

A turning point in the investigation into the shootings that took place in Foria di Centola on June 22: Italian Carabinieri, on the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, have arrested Xhuljan Kurti, 28, an Albanian citizen, who is believed to be one of the three people responsible for the attempted robbery that ended in bloodshed. He has been ordered to be held in prison.

The charges are: attempted robbery, robbery and illegal possession of a firearm. Kurti was identified as one of the associates of Rivaldo Rusi, also Albanian, who was killed with a shotgun by the owner of the house, Aurelio Valiante, 58. The third member of the gang is still being sought. Valiante and his family, after the events, were moved to a protected location. No arrest has been made against the entrepreneur, who is currently under investigation for murder and concealment of a corpse.

According to the reconstruction of the event, the three Albanians had entered a private house in Foria di Centola at night to commit a theft. The owner of that house was initially the injured party.

Then they went to Valiante's house, who, hearing the noises in the yard, came out with a rifle. Upon seeing the thieves fleeing, he ordered them to stop. At that moment, one of the thieves had fired several shots, forcing the owner to react: Kurti was hit and wounded, while a second bullet killed Rus.

The latter was only found later. The owner of the house spontaneously showed up at the police station, saying that he had transported the body of the young Albanian and buried it in San Severino di Centola, where the carabinieri later found it.

An autopsy was performed today on the body of Rivaldo Rusi. The results of the autopsy, expected in the coming days, will be essential to clarify the true causes of death and confirm the dynamics of the facts.

Investigations are also continuing to track down the third accomplice who is still at large and to reconstruct the entire story in detail.
