The 23-year-old Dutch citizen, who was in the company of her friends, accidentally slipped while her friend was holding her hand, but she couldn't and slipped, falling from a height of about 30 meters.
Emergency services were immediately notified. Himara Police, border police, firefighters and an ambulance responded to the scene, which enabled the body to be removed from the difficult rocky area.
Unfortunately, the young woman did not survive her injuries, and the 18-year-old also suffered injuries from falling rocks but is out of danger. She has been transported to the Trauma Hospital in Tirana.
Tourists present in the area were helped to leave safely, while authorities have launched investigations to uncover the full circumstances of the incident.
Filikurit Bay is one of the beaches frequented by tourists in the Vlora area, which can only be reached by rappelling down through the rocks.
