Interpol of the United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi has confirmed the arrest of Durim Bami.
It is learned that Bami is expected to be extradited to Albania in the same way that Plaurent Dervishaj was sent.
The State Police confirmed to News24 that Durim Bami was arrested on account of the order of the Albanian police.
Durim Bami was declared wanted by SPAK in May, as being involved in the cultivation of drug plots in the Fushë-Kruja area, providing the conditions to kill the former deputy of the SP in Lezhë, Arben Ndoka, as well as providing the conditions for Ervis Martinaj's two friends, Erigers Mihas and Tori Xhečuka, were killed.
Yesterday, journalist Igli Çelmeta reported that Bami, also known as Nikla's strongman, was escorted on October 21, while he has been under constant police surveillance since his arrest in June 2024.
In the meantime, it is not yet known whether there is another measure against him, or whether the Dubai police have continued with the procedures related to his first detention made at the beginning of June 2024, according to the Dubai police system, detained persons are kept under surveillance .
After his arrest in June, Bami was held by Dubai police until August 10, but continued to be under police surveillance.
