KLP meets to make the decision, Braho excludes the State Police: We won't need them, we have our own structure

The candidate for the position of head of the Special Prosecution Office, Klodjan Braho, presented this Thursday to members of the High Council of Prosecutors his many years of career in the justice system, his goals, and the concrete actions that will be taken regarding the improvement of the work at SPAK.
During the discussions, Braho focused particularly on the issue of referrals, an issue previously raised by the current head of SPAK.
He stated that the current situation, where a large part of the cases are based on public complaints, is well known and according to him, SPAK is strengthening its internal investigative capacities and with the increase in the number of investigators, the situation will change radically.
Braho thus "warned" that the institution is heading towards a new phase, where investigations will rely mainly on information that the Special Structure produces itself, eliminating the need for referrals from the State Police.
Erion Fejzulla: The current director has expressed concern that the number of referrals from law enforcement is low and SPAK's work is based on public complaints!
Klodjan Braho: I definitely agree with this statement. We have all the possibilities, the capacities, considering the number of investigators that will be recruited, there will come a day when we will not need referrals from the State Police at all. We will conduct investigations based on our information.
After Braho's speech, the KLP members, along with the internationals who have been in the hall since Thursday morning, closely following the presentations of each of the candidates, withdrew to discuss. The decision on who will be the new head of SPAK is expected to be announced in the coming hours!
