The future of Xabi Alonso remains hotly debated in Madrid, with the Spanish coach in serious doubt. In fact, it was initially thought that Man.City would be the final test, but president Perez and the rest of the staff have given Alonso a little more time to turn his fortunes around and, consequently, Real's season.

According to Spanish media, Alonso now has three more games to save his place on the bench. This gives president Perez a little more time to study the market and find a replacement for Alonso.

Perez's big wish is Jurgen Klopp, withdrawn since leaving Liverpool, but the German coach has not yet been convinced to return to the bench.

In such cases, the name of Zinedine Zidane is inevitable, but the former Real Madrid coach remains in France's waiting this time, he is the one selected to replace Deschamps after the "FIFA2026" World Cup.

At the moment, the most likely option to replace Alonso is Alvaro Arbeloa, who holds the position of coach of the Real Madrid youth team.
