Martin Cani's family has started a parallel investigation with the justice bodies for the incident where the 14-year-old lost his life, their lawyer Redi Ramaj tells Top Channel, in an effort, according to him, to put an end to the confusion about the institutional investigation.
"We think that the disclosure of the event of Friday can shed light on the complete disclosure of the event. So are we ultimately dealing with a children's fight that has resulted in fatality or are we dealing with the participation of other people who are not peers? There are many people who have come for consolation and have testified the truths they know, but have not yet been asked by the law enforcement bodies", said lawyer Redi Ramaj.
In addition to the collection of evidence, since November 27, lawyer Ramaj has started requests for obtaining state documents on the case, but the file of the 14-year-old has not yet been officially handed over to him.
"We have submitted the necessary requests to the prosecution and the police. We do not have the forensic expertise yet. We have written a series of letters to other institutions, starting from the school itself, to inform us about the day and moment of the event, has the lesson been fully developed for the classes of people involved in the conflict. To this day, we are still in the wilderness of the first days and this is not normal", the lawyer said further.
