He carelessly lit a fire on his land, in the village of Velçë, and as a result of the spread of the flames, 50 hectares of land and 500 olive trees were burned, the 69-year-old is being prosecuted due to his health condition.
As a result of the investigations and operational actions carried out with the aim of identifying and bringing to justice the perpetrators of intentional or negligent arson, the Selenica Police Station referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, due to the state of health, for the citizen MM, 69 years old, resident in the village of Velçë.
This citizen, allegedly out of carelessness, started a fire on his land, in the village of Velçë. As a result of the wind, the fire got out of control and burned an area of 50 hectares of land, 500 olive trees owned by another citizen and various vegetation.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora for further actions, for the criminal offense "Destruction of property by fire."
The Local Directorate of the Vlora Police once again appeals to all residents, and especially to those who use grazing land, not to cause arson under any circumstances, as they will face the law. The police invite citizens to report to the number 112 any case of arson or illegality as a whole, guaranteeing anonymity and a quick response.
