From Escobar's hippos to Ervis Martinaj's lions, how criminals turned villas into "zoos"

The multi-million euro estates of former Cosa Nostra leaders Salvatore Riina, also known as "Toto Riina", and his successor in the organization, Bernardo Provenzano, have been turned into agricultural cooperatives, youth centers, schools and social projects. Some of these villas have also been turned into residential centers for abused women.
Also, Pablo Escobar's luxurious residence in Colombia, "Hacienda Napoles", since the former drug lord had a liking for wild animals, he had illegally transported hippos, giraffes, and elephants to the residence, the state decided to turn this building into a zoo.
Meanwhile, when asked by author and moderator Grida Duma whether crime exponents keep wild animals in our country, journalist Elton Qyno, invited to 'Top Story', mentioned the well-known name, Ervis Martinaj.
"Apart from Vis Martinaj's lions and bears, there have been no reports in the media of exponents of criminal groups keeping giraffes and hippos. The climate is not favorable to us, they keep some kind of ape, a wolf, anyone keeps them. Someone in Fier kept a lion, it's not much to say," said Qyno./ TCH
