A large-scale operation is underway in Saranda and Ksamil, following arrest warrants issued by the Saranda Prosecutor's Office against police officers, local officials and businessmen suspected of violations related to illegal construction.
Sources indicate that arrest warrants have been issued for dozens of people, including officers of the Saranda Police Commissariat, local officials, as well as builders and businessmen suspected of being involved in illegal activities in coastal areas.
The operation is being carried out by the Vlora Local Police Directorate in cooperation with the Saranda Police Commissariat.
So far, it is reported that two arrest warrants have been executed, one against a police officer and another against a businessman, whose identities have not yet been made public by the authorities.
Meanwhile, checks are continuing in homes and other premises with the aim of apprehending wanted persons and fully executing security measures.
According to preliminary sources, the investigations are related to suspicions of favoritism, institutional inaction, and involvement in illegal construction schemes in tourist areas of the south of the country.
