Piantedosi: 40 illegal foreigners will soon be transferred to Albania

The transfer of the first 40 illegal aliens to Albania is expected very soon, said Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piatendosi today.

"With the Italy-Albania cooperation protocol, we are considering new ways to manage the migratory phenomenon and we have confidence in the decisions, soon, of the European Court of Justice on issues that, in fact, already seem clear to us," declared Piantedosi.

"In the meantime, we will use Albanian structures as detention centers for the repatriation of immigrants who have already been issued deportation orders," he added.

"The transfer of the first 40 illegal aliens is expected very soon, with the aim of their subsequent removal to their countries of origin," emphasized Piantedosi, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 173rd anniversary of the founding of the Italian State Police, in the presence of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
