Tirana Traffic Police intensifies controls/ 54 prosecuted for illegal parking, 65 vehicles blocked

Tirana Traffic Police have conducted intensive checks over the past week, in the context of guaranteeing road safety and freedom of movement in the capital.

According to the announcement of the Tirana Local Police Directorate, during the week 54 citizens were criminally prosecuted for improper parking in prohibited areas such as emergency, bicycle, pedestrian and public transport lanes, pursuant to Article 293 of the Criminal Code.

Additionally, 39 citizens were arrested and prosecuted for various criminal offenses, while 65 vehicles were blocked and removed from the road with a lifting device due to incorrect parking or other violations.

The Traffic Police emphasize that checks will continue without interruption, with the aim of punishing any behavior that endangers the lives of road users and aggravates traffic in the city.

Tirana's Traffic Police have intensified controls, supported by citizen complaints at the 112 number, to punish any case that violates safety and freedom of movement on the road.

In this context, during the week:

– 54 citizens have been criminally prosecuted, pursuant to Article 293 of the Criminal Code, for improper parking on roads and lanes dedicated to emergencies, bicycles, pedestrians and public transport;
– 39 citizens have been arrested/prosecuted for various criminal offenses;
– 65 vehicles have been blocked and towed with a lifting device.

Controls will continue uninterrupted at all times, with a focus on verifying and punishing any violation that compromises road safety.

The Traffic Police appeal again to drivers:

Respect road signs and park only in permitted areas, to avoid obstructing traffic and to ensure the safety of all road users.
