They were distributing cocaine in Rimini, two Albanian cousins arrested

A State Police operation in Rimini, Italy has led to the arrest of two Albanian cousins, aged 25 and 27, accused of trafficking and possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute. The operation was carried out as part of an intensification of checks ahead of the end-of-year holidays.
The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in Via del Pioppo, where police agents, in plain clothes, observed and documented a drug sale by one of the suspects to a drug user.
After detaining the buyer, who was reported to the Prefecture, the police arrested the two distributors. In a first check of the Audi A1 in which the two were traveling, 40 doses of cocaine were found, mainly placed in the glove compartment of the car, and 50 euros gained from the sale.
A subsequent search of the apartment of one of the suspects revealed more details about their activity: police seized another 89 doses of cocaine, bringing the total amount of drugs seized to almost 100 grams. Scales, packaging material and 940 euros in cash, suspected to be proceeds from illegal activity, were also confiscated.
The two cousins were charged with drug distribution and possession and were brought before a speedy trial (rito direttissimo). After a night in security cells, the court sentenced them to three years in prison, but they were released on the condition that they report regularly to the authorities. Their lawyer defended the case during the proceedings.
