Footage has been obtained from the moment of the murder of 31-year-old Egli Pashollari in Tirana, an event that occurred a few days ago on "Kongresi i Lushnjes" street, near the area known as the former Park.
Initially, it was suspected that the crime had occurred due to the constant harassment that the victim was suspected of having inflicted on the wife of the alleged perpetrator, Gazment Buçpapaj, but this line of reasoning has been debunked.
According to his wife's testimony, the cause of the conflict was the roadblock.
She stated that her husband had gone to pick her up from work, as she worked as a manager at a market in the former Park area, to then take her for a medical visit.
After getting into the vehicle, the road was blocked by the victim's car.
According to her, Buçpapaj honked his horn to ask for the road to be opened, while the 31-year-old got out of the vehicle and cursed and insulted her, escalating the situation.
The incident occurred around 3:40 p.m.
According to the investigation, during the physical confrontation, Gazment Buçpapaj stabbed Egli Pashollari, causing serious injuries that took his life, despite being urgently transported to the hospital.
The video shows the moment when Pashollari stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road and got out of it.
Then, Buçpapaj approaches and, in the presence of his wife, physically attacks her by stabbing her. A third person is also seen trying to intervene to separate them.
After the incident, the 40-year-old man, wanted by the police, fled with his wife into the alleys of the former Park area.
Investigators are continuing their work to capture the perpetrator and fully uncover the circumstances of the crime, while the trail of motives remains subject to verification by law enforcement agencies.
The connection with Shullazi and Gilmando Dani
Egli was previously a prison guard and involved in a case of attempting to smuggle alcohol into Emiljano Shullazi's cell, as he was his right-hand man.
He was originally from Maliqi, but had lived in the capital for years and was known as the "park cherri", the area where he was killed today.
He was close friends with Gilmando Dani, who was killed in the Rinas assassination attempt, and the two were the only ones who had contact with Shullazi in prison.
