Fire situation/ Ministry of Defense: 20 fires reported in 24 hours

Over the last 24 hours, 20 fires have been reported across the country, of which 4 are still active.
Fire outbreaks have been identified in the municipalities of: Dibër, Bulqizë, Mallakastër, Patos, Fier, Rroskovec, Himarë, Tirana, Rrogozhinë, Mirditë, Pogradec, Delvinë, Memaliaj and Malësi e Madhe.
The active foci are as follows:
* Dibër Region – In the area called “Lake of Flowers”, part of the Lura National Park, which is developing in two foci. One foci is developing in the direction of Lura, around the Black Lake and is being worked on by operational forces, but the bad terrain and the great intensity of the fire make it difficult to bring it under control. While the other foci is developing in the upper part of the foci on the side of Dejës Mountain, but is being monitored due to the large area it has covered. 23 operational forces and 30 forces from the Armed Forces are engaged in the operation to extinguish the fire, who are working to extinguish it.
* Dibër County – Bulqizë Municipality – In the area of “Mount Peladhi”, Zerqan administrative unit. Only one fire is active, displaced to the height above the village of Krajkë, which is developing in difficult terrain, on an area with bushes and oaks. The fire is being kept under control by forces on the ground. As a result, about 33 ha of area with oaks, bushes and grass has been burned.
* Fier region, in the village of Drenova, administrative unit of Qendër Dukas, municipality of Mallakastër, the fire that broke out in an area with bushes, brambles and pine forest under the crown, between the dividing border of the village of Drenova, Belishovë, and the village of Gorishovë, which was reactivated on July 14, remains active. The fire has expanded in perimeter due to the wind. Operational forces are working to extinguish it.
* Vlora Region. In the village of Borsh, administrative unit of Lukovë, municipality of Himarë. In the evening, the fire was reactivated and intervened by the MZSH Himarë officers with backpack pumps, isolating it. During the night, the officers remained at the scene to monitor the situation, but this morning the fire was reactivated again, in a bushy area near the houses, which makes intervention with troops difficult, as it is difficult terrain. Today, 4 MZSH Himarë officers and 1 AF helicopter are working to extinguish it. As a result, about 10 ha of bushy area were burned.
As a result of the fires, about 52 hectares of bushes and vegetation have been burned, as well as about 90 olive trees.
32 firefighting vehicles and 275 operational forces were engaged in the fire extinguishing operations. Also, 3 firefighting vehicles and 50 forces from the Armed Forces participated in yesterday's operations. Today, 30 military forces and 2 firefighting vehicles with crews and 1 helicopter have been engaged in the fire extinguishing operation by the Armed Forces.
According to the Institute of Geosciences, no precipitation is expected today.
Regarding the risk of forest fires, a "HIGH" risk level is expected today in the regions of Lezhë, Tirana, Fier and Berat, while a "MODERATE" risk level is expected in all other regions.
Civil Protection structures continue to be on full alert throughout the territory to intervene in a timely manner and prevent the spread of fires.
We call on all citizens to avoid any action that could cause a fire and to immediately notify emergency services if they detect a fire.
