A warning for WhatsApp users comes from the National Cyber ​​Security Authority (AKSK), following reports of cases of account compromise in the region.

Authorities are calling on citizens to exercise increased caution and take measures to protect their accounts from attempted

possible for gaining control, especially through verification codes and suspicious links.

"The National Cyber ​​Security Authority (AKSK) calls on citizens to exercise increased caution following recent reports in the region of cases of compromised WhatsApp accounts.

In some of the reported cases, users have lost access to their accounts, while the relevant authorities are analyzing the method of compromise.

 To protect your account:

Enable two-step verification in Settings → Account.

Do not share verification codes, passwords, or account details with anyone.

Check the “Linked Devices” section regularly and immediately disconnect any device you don't recognize.

Do not click suspicious links sent via SMS, WhatsApp or email, especially when you are asked to verify your account.

If you receive a code or notification to register for WhatsApp on another device without requesting it yourself, do not share the code or authorize the request.

Also secure the email address associated with the account, with a unique password and multi-factor authentication.

If you lose access to your account, use only official WhatsApp procedures and channels to recover it.
