A horrific road accident occurred on Thursday morning in Nafpaktos, near the Port Square, where a vehicle went out of control and caused extensive material damage. According to Greek media, the driver of the vehicle lost control on a curve for reasons that are still unclear. The vehicle veered off the road, climbed onto the sidewalk and sped through a busy area, hitting tables, bar chairs and several parked bicycles.
Footage released by local media shows the dramatic moment the car speeds out of control. In the final seconds, a woman who had just parked her vehicle manages to quickly leave, grabbing a child in her arms, avoiding a potential tragedy. The vehicle then collided with her car and another parked vehicle.
The vehicle was reportedly driven by an elderly man, who was traveling from the Lagadoula area towards the port of Nafpaktos. During the uncontrolled movement, the car crossed into the opposite lane of traffic before ending up on the sidewalk.
As a result of the accident, one person suffered minor injuries and received first aid from medical teams that immediately arrived at the scene. Meanwhile, the Traffic Police have launched investigations to clarify the full circumstances of the incident. According to local reports, the vehicle crossed a segment where many citizens gather every day. Despite the great danger and considerable material damage, the balance could have been much heavier, while the fact that there were no victims is considered a great fortune.
