Bulgaria's Radev presents new government cabinet after election victory

Eurosceptic and pro-Russian politician Rumen Radev has introduced the new government cabinet in Bulgaria, promising price cuts, economic stability and reforms to the judicial system.
Radev received the mandate to form the government after his party won the April 19 parliamentary elections, in which the Bulgarian Progressive Party secured 44.6% of the vote and a majority in the 240-seat parliament. The victory is expected to bring the country's first single-party government in nearly three decades.
In his statements, Rumen Radev said that the cabinet's main priority will be reversing price increases and restoring economic stability, as well as strengthening justice institutions.
He also announced new appointments to key positions, including the finance and foreign ministries, while the new government is expected to urgently approve a new budget and measures to secure European Union funds.
According to him, the country will try to benefit from the EU recovery plan funds, which have been delayed due to unfulfilled reforms in justice and the fight against corruption.
Meanwhile, analysts and diplomats are closely watching the new government's foreign policy direction, amid concerns about a closer approach to Russia. Officials from Radev's party have dismissed these fears, stressing that foreign policy will not change drastically.
