DP deputies clashed this afternoon with the Speaker of the Assembly, Niko Peleshi, regarding the presence of Republican Guard employees inside the plenary hall.
The debate began after MP Albana Vokshi demanded the removal of the Guard, calling her presence inside the Assembly hall unacceptable and saying that such a practice does not exist in other parliaments.
"You put a Guard employee there, this is scandalous. In no parliament in the world are there Guard employees inside the hall. Who are you protecting yourself from, from us?" declared Vokshi, demanding friendlier treatment of the opposition.
MPs Gazment Bardhi and Gent Strazimiri also participated in the debate, joining the request for the Guard to be removed from the plenary hall.
For his part, Niko Peleshi stated that the Republic Guard is part of security measures and that its deployment in the Assembly is an early institutional practice.
"Why did you remember today after 36 years? The Guard has historically been in these positions," said Peleshi, adding that organizing security is not a direct target of the Speaker of the Assembly.
Albana Vokshi: A little while ago I tried to go to the secretary to ask a question, but I was not allowed because you have put a guard employee there. This is scandalous, in no parliament in the world are there any Guard employees inside the hall, you bring them here for once, there are other guards there behind, we are not allowed to even go to the secretariat, to talk about the list, or about any draft law. Është e paimagjinueshme, kjo nuk ndodh në asnjë Kuvend. Ku ndodh kjo përveç se Koresë së Veriut? Më thoni një vend të botës ku ndodh kjo. Është detyra juaj sipas rregullores. Ju lutem lexojeni, neni 122 i rregullores, ju kërkoj të largoni punonjësit e Gardës që kanë rrethuar deputetët dhe nuk i lejojnë të komunikojnë me sekretarinë.
Niko Peleshi: Do kem dhe unë kohë të mësojë avash-avash, me vërejtjen dhe me moralin tuaj do mësojmë. Nuk ka asnjë urdhër nga kryetari i Kuvendit sa i përket sigurisë. Zonja Vokshi, unë si kryetar i Kuvendit nuk kam asnjë urdhër apo kërkesë që Garda të mos lejojë deputetët. Nuk ka asnjë pengesë për ju. Vazhdoni punën qetësisht. Le ta dëgjojë edhe Garda, asnjë deputet nuk duhet të pengohet të vizitojë sekretarinë apo çdo shërbim tjetër. Mos krijoni stuhi në gotë. Mund të shkoni në çdo cep i Kuvendit dhe të merrni shërbime, e doni me shkrim, do e përgatis dhe me shkrim…
