Formerly worked for Soros, now with Trump/Treasury Secretary: The two billionaires have a lot in common!

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant said in Sun Valley that US President Donald Trump shares a personality trait with his former employer, renowned investor and billionaire George Soros: both are impatient when working on high-risk deals.
Bessent spoke Wednesday at the annual Allen & Co. conference—known as the “billionaires’ summer camp”—in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Asked by the moderator to compare his current employers to his previous ones, Bessent said that Trump and Soros are similar in temperament, demands, and impatience.
The Treasury Secretary responded by advising Trump to be patient while they process the trade announcements, attendees said, Bloomberg reported.
Trump identifies problems and finds solutions
Bessent acknowledged Trump's unique ability to identify problems and find solutions, but said he can sometimes be impatient when it comes to implementing them, participants added.
Bessent, answering questions from the audience, downplayed the impact of tariffs on inflation and predicted two interest rate cuts this year, adding that long-term borrowing costs are likely to be in line with pre-pandemic levels.
Before becoming Trump's top economic adviser, Bessant worked twice at Soros Fund Management, where he served as chief investment officer before leaving to start his own hedge fund.
Bessant also attacked former White House adviser and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, with whom he reportedly had a falling out.
When asked about Musk founding a political party, Bessett replied: "Which party?"
He then said with a touch of humor that Musk could probably win votes on Mars, referring to the ambitions of the richest man in the world to transport humanity to the planet with the advancement of his space company, SpaceX.
