SP monitors protesters, the square responds with resistance: What happened in the 11th protest

The 11th protest against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama was accompanied by a large march of thousands of citizens on the streets of Tirana.
The rally started in front of the Prime Minister's Office building and continued towards the Municipality of Tirana, then passing through the "9-Katësheve" area, Kavajës Street, 21 Dhjetorin, "Vasil Shanton" and the "Dinamo" stadium.
After a several-hour itinerary, the protesters returned to the Prime Minister's Office, where they continued to call out against the government.
In a symbolic moment during the march, protesters sat on the ground at the December 21 intersection, before continuing their march towards the "Vasil Shantos" area.
Throughout the march, calls against Prime Minister Edi Rama and the political class were heard continuously.
"Rama resigns", "The end has come for you", "Edi Rama is finished", "Rama in prison, Berisha in prison", "New Albania", "Homeland is not for sale" and "Homeland of Albanians, death to traitors", were some of the slogans that dominated the protest.
As on previous nights, citizens closed the march with the call "More tomorrow."
One of the most prominent moments of the protest was the speech of a young girl, who publicly challenged Prime Minister Rama to confront the protesters in the square.
"I've been hearing for 18 years that Albania won't be built, but it will be built, because we, the young generation, will fight for it. We won't leave, but we will make Albania like the rest of the world ," she said.
The young woman also spoke about her parents' emigration, indicating that she was raised by her grandparents, while expressing that she was in protest for her family and peers.
"DO NOT LEAVE THE FRONT"
Former police officer Krenar Ahmeti joined the protest, calling for continued civic mobilization.
He stated that Albanians have invested millions of euros in his training as an officer, while today he works as a driver and receives early retirement.
" I give you an order: do not leave the front, do not leave the front, because these are decisive moments ," Ahmeti said to the protesters.
Analyst Kim Mehmeti greeted the protesters through a message broadcast at the rally.
He praised the participants as the voice of hope for Albanians and said that they are doing what, according to him, intellectuals and analysts in television studios failed to do.
"You are my heroes ," was one of Mehmet's messages to the protesters.
Former KLA fighter Mecan Zotaj also spoke from the podium, accusing the government of pressure, threats, and arrests against protesters.
He claimed that after his speech at the protest the day before, the police had arrested his brother in Roskovec due to statements he had made against the prime minister.
According to Zotaj, these actions will not stop the protest, but will strengthen it.
A citizen from the Duchy of Vlora demanded that the initiators of the protest be publicly identified and proposed the establishment of a National Assembly.
According to him, the protest should be transformed into an organized movement aimed at changing the political system and not remain just a reaction on the streets.
"Our fate and that of our children depends on this protest ," he declared.
The banners continued to be one of the most prominent elements of the protest.
Among the messages that attracted the most attention was the banner: "O Sali, you fossil, go with Rama to asylum" , which simultaneously mocked the two main figures of Albanian politics.
Journalist Fjorela Beleshi stated that the protest has caused concern within the ranks of the Socialist Party and Prime Minister Rama.
According to her, majority structures are monitoring activity on social networks to identify people sharing content from the protests and to uncover their organizers.
Beleshi also said that several representatives of the protesters have been invited for dialogue by the prime minister, but have not accepted, while the protest continues to remain without a publicly announced leader.
