Attack on Iranian oil, Tehran threatens US banks in the region

Iran has warned that branches of US banks in the region could become targets if Iranian oil or energy infrastructure is attacked.

The statement was made by Revolutionary Guard General Ali Mohammad Naeini, who stressed that any facility with American shares in the oil, energy and economic sectors could be immediately destroyed in the event of an attack.

According to Iranian media, the military official warned that infrastructure linked to American interests would "turn into a pile of ashes" if Iran is hit.

Similar threats have been made by Tehran before, since the start of the conflict in the region.
