Iran 'breaks' silence: We have never asked for a ceasefire or

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has stated that Tehran has never sought a ceasefire or negotiations with the United States, contradicting US President Donald Trump's claims that Iran wants to reach a ceasefire agreement.

In an interview with CBS News' "Face the Nation" program, Araghchi said that Iran sees no reason to hold talks with Washington, emphasizing that the dialogue between the parties was continuing even at the moment when, according to him, the US decided to launch attacks.

"We have never asked for a ceasefire or negotiations. We see no reason why we should talk to the Americans, because we were talking to them when they decided to attack us, and this was the second time," he said.

The Iranian top diplomat added that the current conflict is a war chosen by US President Donald Trump and the United States.

"This is a conflict chosen by President Trump and the United States, and we will continue to defend ourselves," Araghchi declared.
