Moscow targeted by Ukrainian drones, attacks on several areas of the Russian

At least 67 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow were shot down by air defenses on Saturday, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.

The mayor's Telegram channel reported incursions by one or more drones almost every hour on Saturday and early Sunday morning. According to Sobyanin, emergency workers have been deployed to areas where the remains of the destroyed drones have fallen.

Moscow's Domodedovo and Zhukovsky international airports temporarily suspended flights due to drone attacks, according to Russia's federal air transport agency, Rosaviatsia.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that a total of 280 Ukrainian drones have been shot down inside Russia since Friday evening. In addition to the Moscow Region, interceptions were also carried out in the Bryansk, Kaluga, Belgorod, Tver, Smolensk, Kursk and Krasnodar regions.

The last reported drone attack in the Russian capital was on March 8, when six drones were destroyed, according to the mayor.

The Kremlin has repeatedly said Kiev is targeting civilians because it cannot stop Russian advances on the battlefield. Ukrainian officials say inflicting significant economic damage could force Russia to abandon its objectives in the four-year conflict.

In response to the attacks, Moscow has targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, which it says supports the production of long-range suicide drones.
