New Iranian leader sent to Moscow after being injured in airstrike, foreign

Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, who took office after the assassination of his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on February 28, has reportedly been rushed to Moscow for emergency surgery on his leg after being injured.

According to the Daily Mail, Mojtaba Khamenei was reported to be in a coma at Sina University Hospital in Tehran following an airstrike by the Americans and Israelis, which targeted Iran's leadership.

His wounds necessitated transportation to Russia for an operation that, according to the newspaper, was personally offered by Vladimir Putin.

Al-Jarida Agency reports that the operation to evacuate the young Ayatollah was planned to be classified and included transporting him on a Russian military plane.

He was then taken to one of Putin's presidential palaces, where he underwent a successful operation.

The news has not yet been officially confirmed, but Al-Jarida claims its information comes from a senior source close to the new Iranian supreme leader.
