Greece/ Two-day strike by taxi drivers in Athens

The Attica Taxis Union (SATA) has decided to hold a 48-hour strike on February 27 and 28, 2024 after the extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors.
The drivers are planning a rally and a protest march to the Ministry of Transport. SATA invites drivers from all over the country to come together to demand better days for taxis.
The main demands of the sector are:
Free passage in bus lanes for busy taxis.
Answer from the government, "because it allows illegal apps that use taxis or EIH not to pay tax, to take their money out of the country, leaving legitimate professional drivers alone with the tax burden".
Adjustment of the default price for the Athens Airport - City Center line from 40 euros to 45 euros (invoice 1) and from 55 euros to 60 euros (invoice 2).
The permanent stay of the VAT rate for taxi services is 13%.
Removal of mandatory registration of new zero-emission Taxi cars only from 2026. SATA's proposal is to postpone this obligation to 2035.
Legislative regulations on the special license and regulation of the criminal record.
