Security measures are being taken today for Nevzat Spaho, the suspected

The judicial developments regarding the murder of businessman Edmond (Mondi) Mëhalla on the evening of November 30th take another important turn today, as a hearing will be held at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Elbasan to determine the security measure against the arrested Nevzat Spaho, suspected of being an accomplice in his execution with a pistol-type firearm.

Today's session will begin at 10:30, behind closed doors.

Regarding this matter, the Elbasan Prosecution Office filed yesterday a request for a security measure with the object of "validating detention, assigning a security measure" against Nevzat Spaho, suspected of being an accomplice in the execution of the 43-year-old businessman.

The hearing will take place today, December 6, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., and according to the court's decision, it will be held behind closed doors. The case is being heard by Judge Elis Dine, who the day before had granted similar security measures for two other suspects.

Yesterday, the court imposed "prison arrest" for:

Ghino Agon, accused of being an accomplice in murder

Kujtim Pišen, fuel guard, accused of failing to report a crime

Their session lasted over two hours and was also held behind closed doors. The parties were familiarized with the file documents and the testimonies of the questioned persons.

Sources from the courtroom revealed that the statement of Mahalla's family members, who claimed that their family had close friendly ties with the Ag family, attracted attention, claims that were also supported by Ghino Ago's family members outside the court.

The prosecution links Ago to the incident through the vehicle used on the day of the assassination, a vehicle that belonged to a company run by Mahalla and Ago, and that the latter had given to third parties for use.

Kujtim Pisha's defense requested his release, claiming that he was eating dinner at the time of the murder, but the arguments were not taken into consideration by Judge Dine.

Today's hearing for Nevzat Spaho is expected to be key for the continuation of the investigation, as he is considered another important link in the complete unraveling of the murder of Mahalla. Sources from the investigative group indicate that the Prosecution is expected to present new elements of the file to support the request for a security measure.

Meanwhile, the police continue to work to identify and capture two other people still wanted. Mondi Mëhalla was executed with three bullets, two in the head and one in the body, on the evening of November 30.

The perpetrator acted alone, and fled in an Audi vehicle towards Librazhd. All of today's developments are expected to shed more light on the dynamics of the incident and the role of each of the suspects.
