G7 Summit, Macron: A success and moment of unity! Ukraine is advancing, Russia is retreating

French President Emmanuel Macron has described the G7 summit held in Evian as a "success", emphasizing that the meeting marked a moment of unity and cooperation among world leaders, after a long period of disagreements.

During a press conference, Macron said that the summit represented "a moment of unity, quality discussions and real cooperation between leaders," adding that this has enabled closer coordination to face global crises and the main challenges of the time.

The war in Ukraine was also a focus of his statement. According to the French president, the G7 leaders agreed that the balance of power in the conflict has shifted in favor of Ukraine.

"Ukraine is advancing, it is resisting, and Russia is retreating," Macron declared.

He also stressed the importance of increasing pressure on Moscow, underlining that the G7 countries are committed to further strengthening sanctions.

"We are determined to increase pressure, including through strengthening our sanctions. This reactivation of the G7 is extremely important," he said.

Speaking about unity within the group, Macron underlined that this is the first time such a high level of agreement has been achieved on the issue of Ukraine.

"Today we have an unprecedented convergence within the G7 and we have reached very clear conclusions," the French president concluded.
