Phone call between Macron and Iranian counterpart, French president reacts: I am convinced that there is a way out, Europe will accelerate negotiations with Iran

French President Emmanuel Macron says negotiations between Europe and Iran will accelerate after a phone call with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.

" Iran must never acquire nuclear weapons and it is up to Iran to provide full guarantees that its intentions are peaceful ," the French leader wrote in X.

" I am convinced that there is a way out of war and to avoid greater risks. To achieve this, we will accelerate the negotiations led by France and its European partners with Iran ," he concluded.

The Iranian President @drpezeshkian called me.

I reiterated my firm demand: Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris must be released. Their inhumane detention is unjust. I expect them to return to France.

I also expressed my deep concern about Iran's nuclear program.
