"Vice President Vance is waiting," White House: Trump sent Witkoff and Kushner to Pakistan to listen to Iranians

White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt spoke to the media about Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner's planned trip to Pakistan to discuss Iran.
Regarding the absence of JD Vance from the delegation, she said that "the vice president is on standby and would be willing to send people to Pakistan if we feel it is a necessary use of his time."
She added that "we've certainly seen some progress from the Iranian side in the last couple of days," prompting President Donald Trump to make "the decision to send Steve and Jared to listen to the Iranians."
"We'll see what they have to say," she said.
Leavitt also said that "we are very grateful to both Israel and Lebanon for choosing to work together and continue these conversations" regarding the ceasefire.
