US and Russian officials to meet again this weekend in Miami for peace in

American and Russian officials are expected to hold a meeting this weekend in Miami, as part of President Donald Trump's administration's efforts to end the war in Ukraine, which has been going on for nearly four years, Politico reports.

According to sources, Washington has increased pressure on Kiev to accept some compromises that could lead to an end to the conflict. If the meeting takes place, the American side will present the results of the last round of talks to Russian officials, while Moscow has not fundamentally changed its positions.

The Russian delegation is expected to include Kirill Dmitriev, the head of the Russian state investment fund, while the US will be represented by Trump's special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Earlier in the week, Witkoff and Kushner held marathon talks in Berlin with Ukrainian and European officials, where they discussed security guarantees for Kiev, territorial issues and American pressure to reach a peace agreement.

The US has proposed security guarantees similar to NATO's Article 5, while Ukraine has dropped its demand for immediate membership in the alliance. Trump administration officials believe Russia could accept Western security guarantees and Ukraine's membership in the EU, but Russian President Vladimir Putin has signaled that he is not giving up on his strategic objectives towards Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the US is expected to soon convene a group of military officials from countries supporting Ukraine to discuss technical details of security and territory. The possible US-Russia meeting in Miami is seen as a separate initiative.

According to Politico, Ukraine's national security adviser, Rustem Umerov, may also hold a preliminary meeting with the US delegation, while European leaders are considering options such as creating a demilitarized zone and deploying troops to oversee a possible ceasefire.
