The student protest marks its 12th day today, while preparations continue for the national rally announced in the capital. Teachers, doctors, and the small business union have joined the protest, while participation is also expected from students in the districts.
Teachers are expected to gather at 10:00 am near the Polytechnic University.
The Independent Union of Arts, Culture and Media of Albania has announced that it will join the national protest on October 24, in solidarity with students, youth and citizens. Through a public call, the union invites its members, artists and culture and media workers to gather tomorrow at 11:00 in front of the Prime Minister's Office. The announcement emphasizes that participation in the protest is related to civic responsibility for the future of the country, but also to the protection of workers' rights.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Party has called on its activists and forums to come out in support of the student protest at 12:00.
At 2:00 PM, student groups are expected to gather in front of the Prime Minister's Office.
Mobilization for the national protest is also taking place outside Tirana. Students from the districts, who have been protesting in the cities where their universities are located during the week, are expected to travel to the capital tomorrow to join the rally.
