10 million euros of tax evasion, taxes reveal 3 entities with violations in the livestock products market

Taxes announce that the action to formalize and improve food safety in the agricultural and livestock products market continues with intensity.
The administration has discovered 3 serious cases of tax evasion in the livestock products trading sector. After a citizen's complaint and an analysis of tax data, reasonable suspicion arose that some businesses were declaring too many purchases and too few sales, a pure evasion scheme, according to the taxes.
The Tax Investigation Directorate cooperated with the Field Task Force to intervene in the activities of 3 entities that trade and import live animals in Fier, Kavaja and Kukës.
The checks revealed violations of tax legislation such as failure to install the fiscalization system, failure to display the price list. In order to further analyze the entities' declarations and document the concealment of income, 2 computer units were also seized. Verified data showed that in total the 3 entities have hidden around 10 million euros of income, undeclared in the tax system.
The administration emphasized that it will continue controls and invited taxpayers to accompany food transactions with tax invoices and to more strictly implement the tax laws in force to avoid tax controls and penalties. / ekofin.al
