INSTAT: 119,870 active enterprises in 2024, net sales increased by 4.5%

In 2024, there will be 119,870 active enterprises in Albania, with an increase of 2.2% compared to 2023, according to the final results of the Structural Enterprise Survey.
The data shows that the number of employees reached 551,189 people, marking a decrease of 1.6% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, net sales reached the value of 3,533 billion lek, an increase of 4.5% compared to 2023.
Regarding the structure of the economy, service producers continue to dominate the market, accounting for 86.8% of active enterprises, 65.6% of employees and 68.3% of net sales. Within this group, trade holds the main weight in terms of both the number of enterprises, employment and sales volume.
On the other hand, according to INSTAT, producers of goods represent 13.2% of active enterprises, while realizing 31.7% of net sales and 34.4% of employment nationwide.
The data confirms the growth of economic activity in terms of sales, while the labor market has shown a slight contraction during 2024.
