From communication to bills/ How much do Albanians pay on average for mobile

Today, phones have become a very important part of everyday life. We use them for social networking, to search for information, for entertainment, but above all to communicate. Although the functions have been added, the phone continues to have its main purpose: to connect us with each other.

Communication via telephone is no longer a luxury, but a daily necessity. However, to have this service, Albanian citizens must pay monthly tariffs set by mobile companies.

"Scan Intel" has conducted an analysis to see how much an average Albanian pays for these services, taking into account only fixed monthly fees.

According to data, a One Albania user pays an average of 1,480 lek per month for telephony packages. While a Vodafone Albania user pays an average of around 1,350 lek per month.

When we calculate these figures for a year, a One Albania user spends around 17,760 lek per year, while a Vodafone user spends around 16,200 lek per year.

If we compare these expenses with the minimum monthly wage in Albania, which is 40,000 lekë, we understand that a citizen with a minimum wage spends almost half a salary per year on telephone offers alone, or about 4.5% of annual income.

This shows that, even though the telephone is a basic need, the cost of using it is still high for many citizens.

While for people with average salaries, the telephone offer constitutes about 25% of a monthly salary, making it more affordable as a service./ SCAN
