The Matura Exams conclude today, high school graduates are tested in elective subjects

High school graduates will return to school today to take the elective subject exam, concluding the 2026 State Matura testing cycle. The results of this exam will serve as the basis for applications and admission to higher education institutions.
The mandatory exam season began on June 2 with the Foreign Language test, continued on June 9 with the Albanian Language and Literature, while on June 16, high school graduates took the Mathematics exam.
The 2026 State Matura is being administered in 144 exam centers across the country, with the commitment of over 2,000 teacher administrators and 170 monitors from the Ministry of Education.
On the eve of the final exam, the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, called on high school graduates to respect the exam regulations, recalling that the use of mobile phones and other smart devices is strictly prohibited in testing facilities.
Through a message on social media, the minister expressed regret for 29 high school graduates who were excluded from the State Matura exams during the first three tests due to violation of the regulations.
" I regret the 29 high school graduates who were excluded during the first three exams for violating the regulations, losing the opportunity to continue the State Matura exams and putting their university enrollment at risk for this academic year, but respecting the rules is extremely important and non-negotiable ," said Kumbaro.
She emphasized that respecting the rules, calmness and concentration remain the main factors for achieving the best results.
