The Port Authority of Durrës has made public some data about the project of the new Port in Porto Romano, (attached table) when, among other things, it is clarified that the new Port will process about 1 million passengers per year.
Step by step, what was presented as the largest marina in the Balkans for the transport of passengers is turning out to be a luxury real estate project, and the current port of Durrës will serve for the parking of 200 vessels.
Passenger and freight services will be transferred to Porto Romano. Last year, the Port of Durrës processed more than 688 thousand passengers, via ferry lines to Italy. In the history of passenger transport, the Port of Durrës has processed less than 900 thousand passengers per year, while Porto Romano is expected to process around 1 million passengers per year.
The Port Authority of Durrës is expected to tender this year the first phase of works for the new port of Porto Romano.
The works at this stage have a cost of around 390 million euros and are expected to be completed within 2025.
Porti tregtar i Durrësit do të zhvendoset në Porto Romano për arsye se në vend të tij do të zhvillohet një projekt i ri me ndërtesa luksoze dhe një marinë jahtesh, një investim me kompani pjesëmarrëse nga Emiratet e Bashkuara Arabe.
