Thanks to its mild year-round climate and constant sunshine, the Caribbean remains a beautiful and ideal vacation spot. However, the Caribbean is becoming increasingly expensive due to demand and increased tourism, according to an article published in The Travel magazine.

After visiting several different Caribbean islands - for me nothing compares to the Balkans. The Balkans offer affordable holidays, quieter beaches and more diversity in terms of nature and coastline.

While tropical locations remain ideal for vacations, the Balkans offer more affordable seaside spots as well as a fascinating history.

I have enjoyed many of Albania's beaches. Many Balkan tourist spots also offer good weather in late spring and early autumn, making them ideal seasonal destinations.

The beaches of Ksamil and Dhërmi are among my favorite places to travel in the Balkans – they give you the feeling of being in the Caribbean.

Ksamil Beach is ideal for anyone looking for a tropical atmosphere in the Balkans.

This is my favorite beach in the south of Albania.

On my last visit to the beautiful Balkan country, I stayed in Saranda for a few days and Ksamil appealed to me the most among all the tourist spots – as it was quieter and more picturesque than the others.

With its curved edges and stunning waters, it felt like you were in Rendevous Bay in Antigua.

I even recommend visiting the south of Albania instead of Greece – if you want to experience the atmosphere of the Balkans as in the Caribbean islands – in a quieter environment.

Many restaurants surround the beach, so you don't have to go far to eat. Also you can do different activities like diving, rowing or walking.

Albania is so beautiful that you will think you are in the Caribbean.

Dhërmi Beach is the most unexpected surprise after a visit to Llogora National Park.

I discovered Dhërmi after visiting the National Park of Llogora, located southeast of the city of Vlora, on the spatial border between the Adriatic and Ionian seas.

I spent a few hours in the national park and some locals recommended some beaches and restaurants in the area.

Their first recommendation was Dhërmi beach – an exotic place with soft sand and crystal clear waters – which they described as the best in the country.

After an amazing 20-minute drive south, I discovered the most beautiful beach far from the southern beaches.

Dhërmi beach is a bit more populated, as it is the best in the area.

It's a great place for swimming and diving, so be sure to prepare for a few hours exploring the crystal clear waters – to see different types of fish, corals and sea urchins.

The atmosphere and landscape are similar to some of the Caribbean islands; Saint Lucia and Barbados./ The Travel
