The true portrait of Lulzim Basha, a leader for principles, not for power

At a time when the Albanian political scene is filled with divisions, the creation of new parties and temporary alliances, Lulzim Basha stands as a figure who has chosen the most difficult path, that of stability and principles. Unlike many others who, after clashes within the Democratic Party (DP), decided to create new political entities to pursue personal ambitions, Basha has chosen to fight for the legitimacy of the DP through institutional channels.
He carries on his shoulders an oath and a trust for democratic principles.
After the decision of the Court of Appeal that passed the seal of the DP to Sali Berisha, Basha did not retreat. He filed a recourse with the Supreme Court, challenging the decision and demanding the restoration of the legitimacy of the party he represents. This action shows his commitment to democratic principles and faith in the institutions of justice, in a country where no one believes in them. He made a
choice for stability, which rarely anyone would make in the face of Berisha and his followers. While many political figures have chosen to create new parties to pursue their ambitions, Basha has chosen to remain within the structures of the DP, respecting the trust of those who have supported him. Although he was forced to run in the May 11 elections under a different entity due to the legal situation, he has not created a new party, but has used an existing structure to continue his political battle, without disregarding the DP as a structure.
He has steadfastly resisted senseless and deliberately incited attacks.
Despite his commitment to the principles and efforts to preserve the unity of the DP, Basha continues to be the target of attacks by those who currently lead the party that currently only has the name Democratic. These attacks, often senseless and unfounded, show more of their fear of a figure who represents a real and sustainable alternative in Albanian politics.
Basha has made and continues to make calls for democracy and integrity.
At a time when Albanian politics needs figures who place principles over power, Lulzim Basha represents this model. He is characterized by stability, commitment to democracy and refusal to follow easy paths for personal gain, these are evidence of a leader who puts the interest of the country and its citizens above all else.
In the upcoming elections, Albanians have the opportunity to support a leader who has shown through his actions that he is committed to a fairer, more democratic and more integrated Albania in the Euro-Atlantic family.
