Three days ago, Tch journalist Muhamet Veliu revealed documents of an invitation from the IDU for Sali Berisha as part of its delegation to participate as the chairman of the DP at the Republican National Convention in Texas (Dallas), which will be held on September 9-10.
But even though Berisha has received an exemption from the State Department to visit the US, despite remaining "Non Grata", it seems that there is a problem in obtaining a visa at the US embassy in Tirana for the purpose of going to the US for a political-official activity.
The journalist, Veliu, confirmed that according to sources in the Foreign Ministry, the head of the DP Parliamentary Group, Gazmend Bardhi, has sent a letter to this institution, which is headed by Ferid Hoxha, for an official accreditation of Sali Berisha as part of the IDU delegation. This accreditation seems to facilitate the DP leader to obtain a visa at the American embassy, for a visa and permission for his travel for political activity in the USA.
On the same day that the news, the letter of invitation from the IDU and the request for accreditation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Berisha were revealed, A2 CNN asked Gazmend Bardhi about this situation. His response was that, " I have no comment on this issue ", thus adding even more mystery to the way in which Berisha will conduct his visit to the US.
